The director of the Rijksmuseum opened the light artwork the Lightbattle on December 12, 2013. He was the first one on the bicycle and started the battle. This interactive artwork was built up during the Amsterdam Light Festival.

InventDesign did the technical realisation of the Lightbattle. The interactive installation is an idea of VENIVIDIMULTIPLEX. The company asked us to deliver the LED lights and the technical realization.

LED Modules provide a visual experience. We have delivered 43 aluminium profiles, which form 5 strips with each 7 RGB LED Modules. The light animations will be projected on the strips with the Modules. For controlling the lights they used 5x a MADRIX Plexus. This LED software makes it possible to create the light effects you want. They also used 6x the Arduino Uno, a microcontroller programmed by InventDesign. The controller ensures that the sensors in the bicycle communicate with the light scenes in the MADRIX Plexus.

Team Red and team Blue are battling against each other. The one who cycled the color away from the other one at first is the winner. The winner will be rewarded with a light show and the color of the winner will appear on the full strip. Lightbattle is an artwork that uses the energy of its visitors to create a stunning visual experience! Watch the video.
